# NetMC

> NetMC is a free Windows app for hosting Minecraft: Java Edition servers on your own PC and sharing them with friends under a real address (like survival.netmc.org). No port forwarding, no hosting bill, Java included. Website: https://www.netmc.org

## What it does

- Create a server in a few clicks: Vanilla, Paper, Purpur, Folia, Fabric, Forge, NeoForge, or a Velocity network. Start from a template, your singleplayer world, an Aternos download or a Modrinth modpack.
- Share it online with one click. The PC only makes outgoing connections to a NetMC proxy (Switzerland or Germany); players connect to the proxy. No router settings, and the home IP stays private.
- Players join with an address such as name.netmc.org (Swiss proxy) or name.de.netmc.org (German proxy). Join pages at https://www.netmc.org/join/<address> show the version and the mods a player needs.
- Performance help: watches tick speed, CPU and memory, names the cause of lag in plain words and fixes most of it with one click. A crash helper explains why a server stopped.
- Players page: allow, kick, ban, operator and whitelist without commands.
- Mods and plugins from Modrinth, daily backups, scheduled tasks, Discord messages, a phone page to start and stop servers, sleep mode that wakes the server when someone joins.
- Switch platform or Minecraft version at any time; worlds are backed up first.
- Java 8, 17, 21 and 25 are included and picked automatically. English and German.

## Plans

- Free: Vanilla servers, up to 5, each with a random address. No account needed.
- Pro: all platforms, 10 addresses of your choice, no server limit, 1 PC. $0.99/month or $9.99/year.
- Ultra: everything in Pro, 3 PCs, 30 addresses of your choice, Velocity networks. $1.99/month or $19.99/year.
- During the current test phase, Pro and Ultra keys are free on the website. Plans use a license key (NETMC-PRO-… / NETMC-ULTRA-…) bound to the PC, no account.

## Requirements

- Windows 10 or 11, 64-bit, with enough memory for the server (2 to 4 GB is plenty for a few friends).
- The installer is not code-signed yet: Windows SmartScreen may warn ("More info" → "Run anyway").
